12: Target audience research

Target audiences are grouped by, gender, age, what they prefer and interests. This helps film makers understand what kind of things to put in a film, males enjoy action while females enjoy chic flicks and children normally enjoy animated films. Target audience surveys can better the making of a film by giving ideas of what to add to make people want to watch the film. 

Target audiences also help directors with what would be appropriate and not appropriate to have in a film. Target audiences are not just useful for film makers but for the audience too as you can see who the film targeted regarding age and therefore you can decide whether it is suitable for you.

The Genre that I would prefer to make is a thriller because the conventions are easy to follow and it is a very popular genre.
