Genre: The term 'genre' means 'category' or 'type' and is useful when discussing film because it helps to group or organise different films according to what they are about and what they look like. This helps producers make and market their film to audiences, and it helps audiences make decisions about what films they like and want to see.

Sub-genre: A sub-genre is a subdivision of a genre of literature, music or film.

Hybrid genre: Is a genre in fiction that blends themes and elements from two or more genres.

Codes and conventions: Are systems of signs put together to create meaning, habits or long accepted ways of doing things.

Conventions of genre you most like:  Suspension, the storyline and also that it could happen in reality.
Films from this genre you have enjoyed: The equalizer. I enjoyed this film because it had the storyline and grabbed my attention from the beginning till the end.
