6: Analyse 2 film title sequences

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a Triller but the opening title sequences looks like a horror with oil covering everything, the music is what makes the audience feel that it is not a horror but a thriller as the song used is rock music. The titles fit in well with the sequence with the font matching the dark colours. Throughout the sequence there are jump cuts of oil covering over objects and people and then there is a match that is lit and burns the oil. The theme of death and violence starts to appear with a man sinking and a lady getting hit.






Pacific Rim is a action sci-fi film and the title sequence is in a cartoon format. The images that are shown is the robots and monsters fighting each other giving the audience an idea of what the film is about. The orchestral soundtrack is one that you would expect to hear from a action movies with heroes.
