3: What is the purpose of a title sequence and film operning

In a film's opening title sequence, we expect to see the directors, screenplay and producers name first before seeing the title, crew and actors. There is usually music or background noises being played while the credits are on and then will be replaced by the dialogue and the film. The openings are either blank, animated or have part of the film as a background.

In Mad Max, it is blank with a soundtrack and the credits are being show formally. The title is usually shown first for this movie. After the credits there is a narrator talking about the story with background scenes and the main character was in view. The background scenes showed violence and destruction to help the audience understand the setting more.

In Captain America, the opening was animated with the characters being produced with a picture of themselves.  In the rest of the credits it was associated with themes of the movie. The order of credits went as director, screenplay, producers, crew and actors. The music was classic heroic music that linked with the film to make the audience more engaged with the film. The music was synchronised with the animation to make a more engaging effect for the audiance.

In 22 Jump Street we see the characters first before going into the credits. In the credits we see various poster of the characters and cutscenes of them. We see the directors name first before seeing the screen play writer, the story writer and then the producer. After that we see the execs, director of photography, production designer, editor and then the actors. The music is used well with the credits because it makes the audience want to keep watching the credits.
